So last time, Moffat revealed 3 words about Sherlock S2: Woman, Hound, Fall. We were forewarned that TODAY he would reveal 3 words about Sherlock S3 just as he did then...

And those words were: Rat, Wedding, Bow.

*clears throat* let me explain how the fangirls reacted:

WHAT?! BOW?! DID HE SAY BOW?!NOOOOOOO *gross sobbing*

Now, those of you who aren't familiar with Sherlock Holmes canon will wonder why we are more upset about the word 'bow' than 'wedding', seeing as our beloved Watson is the only one in canon to get married and none of us want that to happen because (apart from our raging Johnlock addictions) that would mean no longer living with Sherlock and, therefore, being less involved in Sherlock's cases.

Perhaps the words "His Last Bow" will give you a hint.

Yes, that's right, the last ever Sherlock Holmes case before his retirement was a story enitled His Last Bow. Which would hint that Season 3 if Season THE END.

... That just ain't cool.

HOWEVER, in the end, I'm pretty sure most of us know Moffat's love for torturing the fans too well to take it TERRIBLY seriously. For one thing, the Sherlock series is set on a YOUNGER Sherlock and Watson, so his 'retirement' sort of doesn't commit itself to logic, you know? Sherlock in the show is in his mid-30s, and even if he is meant to be gone a few years, and even if his returning episodes are stretched across several years, there's still the fact that the character will be early 40s at the most, which is far from 'retirement' age.
